When people think of personal trainers, they think of super fit men and women helping others to get fit. They believe that you must have a personal trainer in a gym setting. However, with the internet, all things are possible. Can you really have an online personal trainer when you do home workouts? Does it really work?
Online personal trainers are the same as regular personal trainers. They are there to motivate you. You give them a list of your goals, your weight, and your ideal weight. You might tell them exactly what you have in terms of equipment (treadmill, a gym you go to, etc). Then, they devise a plan for you to follow. Many online trainers have videos to help you do the exercises correctly.
The reason that personal trainers are so effective is because they keep you accountable. Even if you use someone online, you will be required to update them, probably weekly. Some trainers require pictures and weigh ins. When you check in, your personal trainer can decide if any changes need to be met. They will work with you to get the body that you want! They are also there if you have any troubles with any of the exercises.
So why would you want an online personal trainer? Often, many people worry about working out with a personal trainer. They think that they will be embarrassed around someone so fit. They also don’t want to struggle with the exercises in front of them. So, when you have someone online, you work out by yourself but still check in. Also, many people are too busy to find time to spend with a personal trainer. Often, they are unable to keep appointments to work out. When you use someone online, you can work out at your convenience. Many times, when you use someone online it is much cheaper than a regular personal trainer.
So, why wouldn’t it work for you? Many people are simply lazy. They need someone pushing them every step of the way. They work harder when someone is watching them. They need the motivation of a personal trainer working right beside them. Simply checking in every week might not be enough. Are you motivated enough to work out by yourself? Will you work as hard as you need to, even if someone is not there watching you?
Also, when you check in, it is easy to lie to your personal trainer. Maybe you were unable to complete all of the repetitions that you were supposed to. How hard would it be to tell the trainer that you did it anyway? Maybe you are not reaching your ideal weight yet, would you take a pound or two off just to let him think that your trainer is doing his job?
Many times with new exercises, you might not know exactly what you need to do. An online personal trainer may give you pointers and tips but a real person beside you can show you exactly what you are doing. They can also watch you as you try it and correct any mistakes that you may make.
It is possible to find a good personal trainer online. You want someone who will work with you, require you to check in, and make changes when needed. Hopefully, you will still be motivated enough to keep up with your exercises so you can see the magic that happens when you combine working out with a personal trainer. It can be a great feeling to reach your goals!
