While fitness is common enough within the industry, here are three things that everyone should know.

The first thing is that fitness helps you reach your weight-loss goals. However, when the scale doesn’t match the efforts put into an exercise regimen people tend to quit, so don’t make this the most important goal. Instead, look at the other results you have gained from your fitness regimen such as, the ability to run or walk further distances, being able to lift more weight or the ability to do more repetitions and being more toned than before you began. These are the main goals to focus on because weight-loss represents more than just a number on a scale.

While losing weight is a great reason to add fitness to your life, the next thing about fitness is that it’s a great way to relieve stress. It’s a great stress management tool because it helps you feel relaxed, especially after a hard day at the office or a stressful day with the kids. By adding fitness to your life, you’ll see an elevation in your moods and this helps balance depressive episodes.

The last and most important thing about fitness is that it helps fight cardiovascular disease. It helps the heart function properly and causes a decrease in your resting heart rate. This is a result of less work on the heart providing the body with nutrient-rich blood. Fitness along with diet, helps the heart have less plaque build-up, which is harmful to your health. The more active you are, the stronger your heart becomes and the risk of cardiovascular disease decreases.

If you’re wondering, is fitness is right for you: the answer is yes. Fitness has so many benefits that affect not only your health, but the way you view yourself. Fitness helps build confidence, self-esteem and adds years to your life.
