What better way to celebrate the goals you have accomplished, and to set goals for the New Year, than by throwing a New Year’s Eve Party? It does not have to be big and extravagant. You can have a party with a few friends, just your family, or you can throw a great big bash! It is up to you. Of course, you have to remember to take time to celebrate the goals you accomplished, as well as take time to start making new goals. Here are some ideas on how you can start making new goals at your New Year’s Eve Party:
Make a Shared Predictions Document
This may not sound very party-ish but it can actually be a lot of fun. Have one person in your group pull up a Google Document and set aside space for each person. Now make predictions about what you and other people in the group will do or accomplish in the following year. These predictions can be real goals, funny guesses, political or global comments, whatever you want! One person types in these predictions and then shares it with everyone involved. Over the next year, you can check in to see who is on track to get the most predictions correct. This is also fun to pull out if you make it a yearly tradition because you can see how well everyone did.
Share Accomplished Goals (Make Toasts)
Whatever the theme of your party, toasts go with everything! You can do a masquerade ball, a 20’s party, a 50’s party, a Harry Potter party, or just a plain old dance party and toasts will be in style. As it gets closer to midnight, take turns sharing goals you accomplished over the last year and make toasts to each other.
Make and Share Future Goals
After the dancing, the toasts, and after you count down to the new year and the ball drops, you can take some time to make and share goals for the future. Maybe, if your friends are crafty, you can pull out poster board, magazines, scissors, and tape. Use those supplies to cut out pictures/words that represent your New Year’s goals and resolutions and paste them to your board. Or simply make lists that you can stick to on a wall or fridge in your home. Sharing goals with friends and family – especially health and fitness goals – is a great way to stay motivated.
