Accelerating fat loss, especially through weight training can be an effective method for losing weight, but finding information on it is a confusing process. While there is a plethora of information out there on the Internet, it is difficult to find the right resources and programs to guide someone on how best to lose fat in the healthiest way possible.

Many of these sites guide readers astray by making promises like simply eating a pill a day, or using a special kind of belt (just to name a few methods) will help them trim that fat quick.

Unfortunately, those methods won’t really work. What does work though, is a combination of cardio and weight training. The latter is a healthy way to lose fat without putting yourself at risk. Luckily, weight training can be pursued no matter what stage of the fitness journey you’re on – whether you’re just starting to motivate yourself to go to the gym, or you’re a regular fixture.

The next question: What exactly is weight training? In basic terms, you lift weights in order to develop strength and it can target specific muscle groups. The calories burnt while engaging in strength training go a long way in accelerating fat loss.

Think of it like a chain reaction: by lifting heavy weights, you develop stronger muscles and a faster metabolism by doing so. A faster metabolism will aid in fat loss in the long run during resting period whereas the effects of fat loss via cardio end as soon as you stop doing the activity. Speeding up your metabolism via weight training helps burn fat, since the added muscle mass will help you burn more calories when resting, thus making it more effective.

Pursuing cardio as an avenue for as well as weight training is a good start to a holistic workout. Ideally, having a healthy balance between the two would be the healthiest way to shed fat and become the best version of yourself possible during your journey to wellness!
