Nutrition is extremely important for maintaining a healthy weight and even helping with weight loss. Without adequate nutrition, maintaining a good weight and staying healthy is nearly impossible. In order to maintain a good nutrition, here are the top unhealthy foods that you need to give up:

  • Potato Chips: Potato chips are a definite food that much be given up. A couple handfuls of potato chips are full of fat and calories, which is going to add a lot to your waistline and quickly. These are definitely not a full and satisfying snack for your body. Instead, consider rice cakes. They come in a number of different flavors and have much fewer calories.
  • Donuts: Donuts are a horrible food that must be refrained from eating. They are made from white flour, white sugar, and on top of that are deep-fried. This means that donuts have lots of calories and lots of saturated and trans-fat. Instead, opt for a whole grain bagel for breakfast.
  • Fettuccine Alfredo: This pasta dish is full of fat. After all, it is pasta just drenched in cheese, cream, and butter. That means a lot of calories for a small portion. Instead, choose whole wheat pasta with marinara sauce, which has much fewer calories and has needed fiber for your body, as well.
  • Sausage: Eating sausage for breakfast is just a health hazard since it has so many calories and fat that can affect the health of your heart. Instead, consider chicken or turkey sausage, or even go vegetarian with Boca Italian sausage.
  • Fried Chicken: Fried chicken is just horrible because it is deep-fried and contains a large amount of calories and fat. Instead, you should choose grilled, skinless chicken breast, which is a much more satisfying meal for your body. You can even season the chicken breast so that it still tastes satisfying without all the fat.
  • French Fries: Another no-no is definitely french fries. These are just full of calories and fat and they are only a side order with your meal. Instead, consider making sauteed tempeh. This contains a large amount of protein, iron, and vitamin B6 without all the unnecessary fat and calories added onto it.

By avoiding these foods, you can be sure that you are going to see a difference, not only in your physical appearance, but in the way that you feel on a daily basis. You won’t have all those extra calories weighing on you and making you feel tired and physically drained so easily.
