So you know you want to lose 20 pounds, run a marathon, gain mass, eat better, or maybe just get in shape. Whatever your end goal is, it exist right? You know where you want to be physically. You just have to get there, but you’re struggling or maybe just not sure you’re on track to reach those Goals.

So let’s talk about milestone goals. They are the little goals that add up to the big goal. Having a daily, weekly, or monthly goal can help you track your progress and let you know how you are doing. You know just like a mile marker on an interstate does.

These little milestone goals can be as simple as running an extra lap today, adding 10 pounds to your bench presses this week, swapping out candy for fruits this month, an extra 10 minutes of cardio…etc

The thing is they keep you on track, and give you some small accomplishments to build confidence in yourself so you can feel good while meeting those big goals. It can be hard to stay on track, and keeping one little off day or week from crashing your main goal is the key. That’s another benefit to having some milestone goals. If you miss one it’s okay, just start over tomorrow or next week and hit the next goal.

Another thing goals can earn you is some cheat days, because sometimes cheating is okay. However, you can’t just cheat all the time. You need to earn that doughnut by meeting your goals. If you ate right, made that mile in a specific time, or made those gains happen then go ahead have a dessert, reward yourself with a massage, or get that macchiato.

The key to making changes happen is setting and meeting goals. That’s all there is to it. Get those goals set and keep yourself on track to positive progress.
