To be fit and at your best you must make your mental and physical wellness a priority. Here are 3 suggestions for promoting wellness of the mind and body.
1) Eat Real Food: Eating fast food is convenient, but it can cause ill effects to the body, such as weight gain, high cholesterol and fatigue. To stave off weight gain, high cholesterol and fatigue eat real food. Real foods include lean proteins, such as chicken and venison, complex carbohydrates like oatmeal and quinoa and fresh fruits and vegetables.
2) Get Enough Rest: Not getting enough sleep can lead to an increase in cortisol levels (which promotes belly fat), a decrease in alertness and can increase a person’s chances of developing blood clots. To avoid the negative effects of insomnia and achieve mental and physical wellness, an adult should strive to get at least seven hours of restful sleep per night. To help you fall asleep and get the rest you need try taking a warm bath before going to bed or listening to classical music before nodding off.
3) Think Positive Thoughts: Our thoughts are more powerful than you may think. If you think negatively, there is a chance that you aren’t thinking clearly and you have mysterious body aches. A way to think positive is to create daily affirmations. Daily affirmations are positive words that can boost your mood and energy levels. An example of a daily affirmation is: “I will have a great day today.”
